    Auto dialer freezes my computer

I recently downloaded and installed the update for Maximizer 10 Entrepreneur, to SR 1, Build 1910.  It has been running fine since the installation-until yesterday.

Yesterday, we had a sudden and severe thunderstorm pass by us.  It was so severe, and close, that a lightening bolt hit my neighbors roof.  For some reason, since that time, every time I try to make a call, using the auto dialer in Maximizer, my whole computer freezes, and I have to do a hard shut down.  Ctrl>Alt>Del doesn't even do anything.

Can I simply repair Maximizer, by doing an install over the current installation?  Do I need to uninstall Mximizer completely to repair it.  Do you feel this is, in fact, a dialer issue I can repair through Maximizer, or would it be a possible functionality breakage in Windows?  Either way, can you advise me how to repair it?  Thank you.

Your modem might be damaged.  In Maximizer, try going to

    File, Preferences, "Dialing" tab
Set Method radio button to "None"
    Click "OK" button

This should allow you to use Maximizer dialing without it trying to connect to the modem.  I hope this helps!

You were correct!  When I went to Device Manager, and tried to Queue the modem, it would immediately freeze up.  I purchased a new modem, reset the com port, and everything is working fine.  I think its safe to say, the storm fried the modem.  Oh well!!
