I have similar problem with synchronization between Maximizer and Outlook.

If I delete a contact and try to resynchronize with outlook, the deleted contact can't be recovered.

For No 3, did you try to assgin the new individual to the favorate list which is used in the synchronization?

Hello Tao, I just deleted a contact in Outlook and then run Outlook Sync, then Maximizer just excluded that Individual record from that Favorite List for Outlook Sync. Then I re-added the contact in Outlook and run Outlook Sync again, Maximizer created a new Indivdual record and then had 2 duplicate Individual records at last. Their difference was the new one belonged to that Favorite List only.

Then I did one more similiar testing with another pair. After deleting the contact in Outlook and run Outlook Sync, I added that Individual record back to the Favorite List for Outlook Sync and then run Outlook Sync again, then Outlook Sync created the same Contact in Outlook and no duplicated record found in Maximizer or Outlook.

Kindy share your comments!!

Re: How to Synchronize Outlook Contact with Maximizer Contact and Company (Not Maximizer Individual)

Rafli:

Hi All,

I have successfully synchronize my outlook as this web tells :

http://cssadmin.maximizer.com/Download/RightNow/060410-000041/OutlookToMaximizeSynch.pdf

However, I found several problem as :

1. If the contact deleted in Outlook, It is not deleted in Maximizer. Does anyone have a solution?

2. The synchronization creates 'Individual' instead of 'contact' or 'company'. I believe that this occur because of 2-Tiered methodology that Maximizer used instead of single-tiered in Outlook. However, when I convert the 'Individual' to 'Contact' or 'Company', the synchronization is no longer success. Does anyone have a solution?

3. If I create a 'Individual' in Maximizer, it is not synchronized to Outlook. However, if I create a contact in Outlook and assigned it to a specific category ([MAX] - name for category to sync with Maximizer), it is Synchronized to Maximizer. Does anyone have a solution?

Many Thanks for you guys help.

Hello Rafli T,

For #1, on my side, if I delete the Contacts in Outook, then Maximizer just exclude that Contact out of the Favorite List for Outlook Synchronization. But if I delete the contact in Maximizer, then Outlook Synchronization really remove that contact in Outlook.

For #2, it's by design the new Comapny and Contact records after convertion from Individuals type does not include original Favorite List(s), so you need manually add the new Contact into that Favorite List for Outlook Synchronization again.

For #3, it also works on my side but as Tao mentioned, I need put it into the Favorite List for Outlook Synchronization first.

I am using v10.5 R2 SR1 ENT Wks, Outlook 2007 SP2 and XP Pro SP3 on my side. I suggest you repair your Outlook to see any luck or difference firstly.

Best of luck!!
