Problem importing CSV data into Maximizer 10 address book

I'm now in the process  of trying to import a small CSV file into an address book that I created within Maximizer 10. The problem is that once I select the CSV file, Maximizer pops up a blank form (with only a red circle with an X in the middle) - no text error message at all. I am logged in as Master of this address book, so I should have administrative rights to do this. I'm just not sure how or why this is happening. Help!

Hello, have you already classified the problem being specific to that CSV file only?  If yes, then you can just focus on what's wrong with that file.  BTW, this is my first time note this error.  Jewel Smile

Re: Problem importing CSV data into Maximizer 10 address book

I opened the CSV file in Notepad and cleaned up a bunch of blank records at the end, as well as removed some quote marks around some of the data. It's a clean file - just field data and commas. That's it! But Maximizer still gives me the same blank error...

Re: Problem importing CSV data into Maximizer 10 address book

Hello, I assume you have narrowed down the problem ONLY happen if importing that CSV file(i.e. no this problem if importing other CSV files), so could you do the export again?  If yes, you may take a note this KB, esp the point 3:

010511-000011 How do I export Address Book entries?
    http://support.maximizer.com/scripts/support.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=lb16fSTj&p_lva=&p_refno=010511-000011&p_created=989597537

BTW, is any difference or luck if using "Import other contact manager databases" method, which is able to handle character delimited ASCII (.txt) file, e.g. CSV or tab delimited file?

010511-000013 How do I import other contact manager databases?

Optionally, you may take a look at this KB as ref:

    Have luck!

Re: Problem importing CSV data into Maximizer 10 address book

I just created a very simple, single-record CSV file and then tried to import it. It still won't work. Where does Maximizer log file import errors?

Re: Problem importing CSV data into Maximizer 10 address book

In "Import Address Book Entries windows", there is this option: <!-- img.hcp1 { border-style:none; } -->

    Write errors to file

Logs invalid records in a file. The log file is called import-file name.ER*. You find this file in the same folder as the original import file. This option is not available when importing dBASE files.

But I don't think that ER* log would record useful related info in your case.   There are some general logs kept by Maximizer, you might explore them to see any luck or hints.  Go to Admin module > Diagnostic tab page to change the log levels if neceessary, have luck!

    Diagnostic <!-- img.hcp1 { border-style:none; } font.hcp2 { font-weight:bold; } -->

    Diagnostic

Allows you to control Maximizer log settings for each module.

    • If you change the log settings for the Email Service (CMGR-Email), PrintFax Service (CMGR-PrintFax), or Outlook Sync (MOCI/MECI) you must restart the service(s) for the changes to take effect. Restart these services from Windows Control Panel > Services.

Windows folders for Maximizer logging and current Maximizer installed location

    Log Folder

Click the ellipsis button and select a directory for the main Maximizer log path.

    Installed Folder

Displays the location of installed Maximizer files on the current computer.

    Module level preferences

    Preferences for this module

Select the module to which you want to assign log level settings.

    • Each module has a different default log level value.

    Module log folder

Browse to the folder where you would like the log files stored. The default is the "Logs" folder in the Maximizer program folder.
